Pierce Brosnan is to play a British prime minister in director Roman Polanski's political thriller 'The Ghost'.
MTV reports that the film is based on the Robert Harris novel of the same name and tells the story of a ghostwriter (Nicolas Cage) who is hired to finish the memoirs of a former British prime minister (Brosnan).
But his research puts his own life in danger.
Shooting will begin in Europe in the autumn.
Brosnan will next be seen on Irish cinema screens in the musical 'Mamma Mia!'; it opens on 4 July.
